I would like to talk about my team, members of the stuff in restaurant. I work in an Italian restaurant, Grazie Gardens. My job is mainly attending guests. Team work is the most important to provide good service. Especially, it is needed when our store is very crowd. If the member of the stuff cannot make good communication, guests cannot have a nice lunch or dinner time. In other words, whether guests can spend comfortable time or not is our stuff responsibility.
There are many kinds of member such as high-school students, college students, graduate students, young working people, and housewives. We are different from gender, career. However, the most significant factor is not career but a corporation in serving. We are one team to let guests have a nice mealtime.
When the restaurant is crowding, we always divide job and corporate each other. For instance, a person direct guests to their table and provide folk, knife and wet wipe; a person take order; a person serve their meal. However, we have to judge flexibly as the situation demands. Thus, sharing information such as the number of guests who wait for entering; that of unoccupied table to see guests smoothly.
We try to reduce the gap between the stuff through talking each other. Talking with other members give me new information such as their lifestyle, school life, what they think about and so on. Sharing information makes us unite because we can know others and trust them.
There are many difficulties to attend guests. However, I try to overcome them with the member of stuff.
Hi Ayaka,
ReplyDeleteThis is a good example of working as a team, and you make a great case for the power of good communication. That you also work part-time in addition to all of your ICU responsibilities is very impressive.

Hey Ayaka!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you work at an Italian restaurant :) That's really cool. I liked the idea how people of different backgrounds and ages get together and work as one equal time during your work hours. Also, the fact that you get to share your different lifestyles must make it a very interesting learning experience both during and after work :)
sorry, I meant *one equal team, not time ><
